Perhaps, depending on how many members from your town join us. It costs us more to create each local group, so we are adding them as members from an area join our membership website.

Within your local group, you can tag your more specific area so other members from that area can see your posts.

FYI - Each local group starts as a CONTINENT or COUNTRY LOCAL GROUP. As membership in that area grows, we add smaller REGIONAL LOCAL GROUPS, which might be states, provinces, territories, counties, etc. Within the regions, you can tag posts and events that are specific to an area or town.

There may or may not be other members in your direct area when you join. Members join us all the time, so if there is no one else in your area right now, there may be in the near future.

Word of mouth is the best way to grow membership in a specific area.

There are currently members in most of the USA state local groups.

Like anything, you will get out of our community what you put into it. You do need to participate in order to get results. The members who make the most friends regularly participate in the chats, video chats, clubs, etc.

There are several reasons a website is better than social media for this kind a community.

● First, social media does not have the ability to include several of the features that we have in our website.

● Social media does not provide any way for us to have separate local groups.

● Social media does not provide a way for local groups to have their own private chats, events page and other features.

● It’s not really possible to have specific sections for topics of conversations in social media.

● Social media is prone to scammers, hackers and bots, making the community less safe for members. Scammers, hackers and bots are much less likely to give their info in order to join a paid membership website.

● Social media often censors posts for no reason, or suddenly cancels groups and communities for no reason, thus destroying a community in one stroke. In a website, only the admins have control of the community.

● Social media does not legally protect members who originate posts, conversations, events or gatherings. A membership website gives member much more legal protection.

1. First, social media is not free. You pay for your social media by giving them access to all your personal information, which they sell to whoever they want. We will not sell any of your info at all!

2. Social media is not free for admins. Admins of a social media community have to pay for ads that help members find the group and that increase the algorithms for the group. Admins also pay in the tremendous amount of time it takes to run a group.

3. In other meet up organizations, the host of a gathering has to pay to host that event, and that cost is much more than our membership price! In our community, it cost nothing extra for members to create gatherings or events.

4. It costs us to create and maintain this membership website. While we do not charge extra for Local Groups or any of our features, we must charge a basic, low overall fee to help cover costs to build and run this community.

5. It as been proven that people participate more in communities with at least a minimum fee, thus giving you more benefit from it!

6. Having a paywall helps keep bots and scammers from entering our community. Free social media groups tend to attract lots of bots and scammers.
